How does Recognify guarantee GDPR compliance for face recognition?

Our setup relies on explicit opt-in consent, separately for each use (selfie storage, recognition, sharing), with no pre-ticked boxes. Face embeddings are deleted automatically after the event (typically D+30), and a DPIA is performed upstream for any large-scale biometric processing. It's a CNIL requirement we systematically anticipate, not an option.
What happens with third parties photographed without consent?

Two options exist: automatic blurring of non-consenting faces, or displaying an information notice on the site.
What is the legal basis for collecting emails?
+
The legal basis is explicit consent at the time of capture, with a single stated purpose (retrieving photos), and no marketing reuse without separate consent. Retention is limited and access, deletion and portability rights are operational.
How long is biometric data kept?
+
Face embeddings are automatically deleted at D+30 after the event. A participant can also withdraw consent and delete their data in one click at any time.
Are the photos publicly accessible?
+
No. All photos are private by default. Only people appearing on a photo can access it through their secure gallery. The organiser can, if they wish, make some photos public.
How does the user journey work for a participant?

The participant scans a QR code, creates an account in seconds with a selfie and an email, and is notified as soon as a photo of them is available in their private gallery, updated continuously during the event.
Is Recognify compatible with my existing camera gear?

Yes. Our technology is compatible with any camera. Two packages are available: technology only if you already have your photographer, or a turnkey offer with a professional photographer included.
What concrete results can I expect?
